I’ve been talking about it for a while now, so I finally went out and did it….I bought a DSLR. Not any Digital SLR, a Nikon D80 with a 18-135mm lens.

Out of the box, I was pretty impressed. I immediately plugged in the battery to start charging (longest 2.25 hours of my life). While it was charging, I started reading the quick-start guide. I also unpacked the camera bag, extra battery, and flash card (2GB SD) that I bought.

Once the battery was charged, the cats were my target of choice. I left the camera in its Auto mode and let it do its thing. I was very impressed. The pictures were crystal clear. The LCD screen is very bright and vibrant. The flash is bright.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the camera. I should be for the $1500 I paid for it and all the accessories.

Now I need to go out and learn how to shoot amazing pictures.
