I was at home the other night thinking about nothing in general and it hit me. I’ve never played Dungeons and Dragons. In fact, I had no idea how to play, what it takes to play, or anything. Working in a video game studio, I imagined that there were people I worked with that would play if I somehow could get a game together.

I shared my desire to play with a coworker and it was all over after that. A mass email to the studio, a few responses back and we have ourselves a game. We’re going to start in a week or two when everyone has time.

Our timing couldn’t be better either….the 4th edition of the game will be released in early June.

Now, if that didn’t make me a g33k, then this certainly will. After discussing DnD with my coworker, we started talking about other games we used to play. I was heavily into Magic: The Gathering and it was determined that he was too. So, now I have two boxes of cards on my desk and a lunchtime play date.  I still need to read through the rule book (It’s been close to 10 years since I’ve even thought about magic). Again, my timing is impeccable….Magic is releasing the latest expansion in the next couple months.
